Why spend Easter dying eggs when you can Sharpie them instead? Here are a few eggs (minus the one on the far right in the last picture) that I created yesterday. Note: Empty candle holders are surprisingly good egg stands.

I was commissioned to create a logo and two posters/flyers for 4nFriend, a foreign language tutoring start-up in Boston, MA. Let’s hope it takes off so I can cash out.

There’s nothing better than scribbling ideas on a diner napkin. This weekend, I finally put my forthcoming (aka never-coming) album themes down on paper.

At a little league field in San Francisco in the pouring rain on my bike ride home from work today, I found my 500th geocache. It took me nearly 9 years to get here, but finding my 500th felt just as good as my first.

I finally got around to finishing a drawing that had been brewing in my mind for months. It’s a big one and it’s full color, which is a bit scary and unusual for me. Anyway, I documented the whole process. Here are a few pictures that I took along the way.

Blank canvas. A nice off-white color but big and intimidating.

Messy pencil sketches. A necessity for a drawing of this size.

Final drawing outline in Sharpie. A little shaky, but that’s part of my style.

Pencil erased and Sharpie finished. Extremely tempted to leave it as is.

A close-up of the second creature. Note the signature tired eyeballs.

Testing a few colors with Sharpie on the edge of the paper.

Starting with the big guy first. A nice yellow body and blue bike.

Mmm… not so sure about purple but there’s no turning back now.

Nearly complete. An angled shot of the colorful crew.

The final piece. A little pixelated here but much more pleasing in person.
Today was my first attempt at homemade pickling. If all goes well, I can finally start Risky Pickles, an exotic pickle distributor. To kick things off, I’m experimenting with three flavors: Chicken, crab and taco. If you have suggestions for other unusual flavors, please let me know.

My friend Brian and I write a lot of IOUs to each other. We typically scribble them on napkins, post-it notes and even socks. In order to clean up and standardize the process, I created a business card sized version. It’s not 100% done, so please let me know if I should change or add anything.

Do you get bored in meetings? Sometimes I do. Rather than completely wasting my time, I draw goofy stuff on paper that was originally intended for important stuff. Today’s meeting was particularly interesting, as you can tell from my “notes” below.

These earrings are made of two sealed “less than 1/2 oz” Haribo gummy bear bags. Yes, the bears are sealed inside and still fresh! You may be tempted to tear and eat while wearing them. Please do not do that unless it’s absolutely necessary.

My uncle recently gave me his old 35mm camera. It’s a good one, so I decided to test it out on the golf course. The results, as you can see, were not that good but not that bad. This will definitely take some practice. Check out the high res photos and so much more on my new picture blog here.
